Skin and Makeup Habits To Avoid

Sometimes you're too tired to even get up from the couch- you're physically, mentally, and emotionally drained and stressed. At other times you're just too pressed for time. This happens most especially when you've pulled all-nighters at work or at school, or are minutes away from a huge event. Nevertheless, there are a couple of routines that you MUST NOT, at any circumstance miss. I'm talking about beauty routines.

1. Forget to remove makeup

This is obviously common sense, but many people tend to forget to remove makeup. When left overnight, it could clog your pores and stain your sheets. You'd wake up to pimples and a very unsightly mess. If you must get some shut-eye immediately, keep a bottle of makeup remover by your bedside. M.A.C. wipes will always make your cleansing routine a lot easier.

2. Not rinsing/washing makeup applicators

Makeup brushes harbor bacteria when not cleaned frequently. As a general rule, clean your brushes every other day using a mixture of equal parts shampoo and water. Otherwise, you would be transfering and harboring bacteria on your brush to your face.

3. Not wearing sunscreen

Sunscreen is there for a purpose, and that's to protect you from premature aging and skin cancer. Forgetting or choosing not to wear sunscreen is putting yourself at risk. There are sunscreens that are made specifically for each type of skin, so be sure you get one that matches your needs.

4. Unhealthy diet

Unhealthy diets lead to poor skin conditions. A diet consisting of teas, high fiber, fish and vegetable oils, and plenty of water will keep your skin glowing since your body is functioning at its best.

5. Wrong makeup choices

Piling on too much makeup makes it cake up. Wearing the wrong ones that do not match your skin tone will not flatter your face. Excessive use of trends makes your makeup tacky. Let's not get started with raccoon eyes. Moderation is key as well as an understanding of what works and what doesn't with you skin tone.

Bad habits are quite difficult to break. Of course, you'd be better off without them, right?
